Recipe # 25 – Grilled pork chops with broccoli and beans
I’m still learning to cook with cast iron cookware. Typically where you may need to cook at a higher heat with other materials, the evenness of the heat disbursement of cast iron allows one to cook at lower temperatures and achieve the same results.
Why do I mention this from the outset? Well taking a look at the picture you may notice that the pork rind is a little on the dark side, carbonizing it wasn’t part of the plan and I shall endeavor to try this meal again, at a lower heat.
With that disclaimer out of the way, lets move on. Is this meal 20 minute worthy? Certainly! It is a cinch to prepare and the ingredients almost total the sum of it’s name, the broccoli is blanched, served crisp, yet tender and the beans mixed in with a bit of chilli and garlic.
The pork chops were grilled on my Le Creuset Square Skillet Grill, which I’m falling in love with more and more each day.
Served up with a bit of salt/pepper and the combo with the beans and broccoli were great, if a little unconventional.
Overall a simple, quick to prepare meal that left us feeling suitably satisfied.
